To use the links in this newsletter, you must be connected to the Internet. PC Eudora users: to see this and other html mail properly you must check the box "Use Microsoft's Viewer" in the "Viewing Mail" options.
To use the service, click on the link above, then click on "Click here to give it a try". You will now have a form showing two pictures of touchtone pads, and only the one at the left will work at first. Use it, or your computer keyboard, to type in your phone number, including area code. If you are dialed into the Internet on your only phone line, check the box "Wait 15 seconds" to give yourself time to disconnect your modem before the service calls you back. Press "Next" under the touchtone pad. Now use the pad on the right, or computer keyboard, to type in the number you want to call. Press "Call" under the pad. Disconnect from the Internet if necessary, but if you can possibly stay on and still receive a call, you should do so. The system will call you and put through your call. You will have 3 minutes to talk. But if you can remain connected to the Internet, the web form will remain active and will count down the time left. When your time gets low, a message will pop up telling you to click on "OK" to get another minute. You can keep adding minutes like this for up to an hour call!
http://www.wap.com.sg/downloads.htm Notice the two unlabeled buttons at the bottom of the phone's screen. They choose the two menu items that are displayed at the bottom of the screen. In between these two buttons are two scroll bars. Press the bottom one to scroll the screen down; the top one to scroll up. You will see a couple of sample WAP enabled sites, and you can type in URL's of other ones you know about. Also try their Ericsson R380 emulator with the giant screen (for such a device). The second link above is a list of many WAP enabled sites. Click on a category, then click on a URL and this will launch it into the emulator automatically. The third link above points to a small emulator you can download for your PC. It has some demo applications built in, and you can go to any WAP enabled site.
This site has a few news articles each day of interest to jr. skulkers and hackers, archives of past news articles, user contributed information, etc.
The ever prolific Jr. Skulker NoReality suggested this site by Creative Explosions, a company that develops Flash animations for commercial websites. When you first click on this link, you will be asked if your visit is for business or pleasure. If you respond "business", you will get information about the company, but if you click on "pleasure" you will get a menu with games and great animations to play with.
