Jerry's skulkers

Down below WebSkulker will finally give all you jr. skulkers the promised details on how you can get $50 in long distance calling completely free, as well as your own 888 toll free number for voice mail and faxes with "follow me" features.  But first, read this and give us some help in return for the free gift.

This is a special "email-athon" issue of WebSkulker.  It's like a charity telethon except by email, and just like any telethon, we will beg and grovel and keep telling you that whatever you do isn't enough.  Our goal is to double the number of subscribers to WebSkulker and we want this to happen all in one day, today.

Here is what you need to do to help.  DO IT NOW!  Click on this link:
http://www.webskulker.com/invite.html
and fill in your name and your email address, then the email addresses of up to five of your friends.  Press the "Submit" button at the bottom and our server will automatically generate an email message to each friend you named, telling them that you are a happy subscriber, describing the newsletter, and inviting them to subscribe also.

If each of you gets one friend to subscribe, that will double our list.  But one friend isn't enough!  We need each of you to get two friends, three friends, tens of friends, to subscribe to make up for the lazy jr. skulkers out there who will not contribute.

FILL OUT THE FORM NOW.  Fill it out again with five more names!  You aren't doing enough.  We need more names!

Did you do it yet?  Don't you dare look below for the free $50 in long distance until you help us out by getting us more subscribers.  Go back up and fill in the form!

If you want to know what the emails generated by the form look like, just think like a skulker and put in your own email address where your friends' addresses belong.

Well?  Click here http://www.webskulker.com/invite.html  and fill out the form before you go any farther.  Did you do it yet?

You don't need to skulk to make free phone calls

You will be in big trouble if you are reading this and haven't yet helped us get new subscribers.  Here is how to get the toll-free number with $50 of long distance calling:

Go to http://www.centrecom.com , read about their service, and press the button "Get your free account now".  Fill out the information truthfully, because someone from their company will call you back to make sure you are legitimate before activating the account.  Where it asks for the number of the friend who referred you, please give WebSkulker's number, (888)591-5915, as they will then give us a small referral credit.  You can get the same credit after you sign up and tell your friends about this.

When they call you on the phone, please tell them that you are interested in their voice mail service and might keep it when the $50 runs out.  You might very well like the service and want to keep it, so this is not a lie.  Don't worry, they will never bill you for anything without your permission.

When your account gets activated, they will give you a personal 888 toll free number that you can use for voice mail, faxes, and many other features.  This is free as long as the $50 in your account doesn't run out.  If you want to keep it afterwards, the charge is $9.95 per month plus a usage charge of 8 cents per minute that you or anyone else calls into your 888 number, plus an additional 6 cents per minute if you call into your 888 number and then use it to make an outgoing long distance call in the U.S.

You may notice a price of 4.5 cents per minute on their web site.  This is only if you connect to their service from your PC using the Microsoft Netmeeting product.  This is kind of fun and we will talk about Netmeeting and the interface between CentreCom and Netmeeting in the next issue.  But normally you would be calling your 888 number with a regular phone at the prices of 8 cents plus maybe 6 cents per minute.  But all of this is of course free for you to play with because they give you $50 in your account to try out the service.

Why do we keep saying that this is a $50 pre-paid calling card when it seems more like a voice mail system?  Because one of the things you can do with your CentreCom 888 number it is make outgoing long distance calls.  Here's how to use it for long distance without bothering with the other features:

Sign up with CentreCom and wait until they assign you a personal 888 number.
Dial your 888 number.
As soon as it answers, press the * key followed by your password.
Press 9, then press the phone number you want to call, starting with a 1.

Once you figure it out, it is as easy to use as a prepaid calling card and does the identical job.

Your CentreCom number also has a "follow me" feature which means that you can enter up to three phone numbers plus a pager number where you might be reached at this time.  When someone calls your 888 number, CenterCom's system will ring all those numbers and send a page simultaneously.  If it can find you, it will connect you live to the person waiting, otherwise it will invite them to leave a message.  The documentation on their web site isn't too good so we will explain more in the next issue.

Aren't you glad you subscribe to WebSkulker?  Please tell your friends and ask them to subscribe.  Just click here:

This made WebSkulker laugh

Contributed by Jr. Skulker Dan Dunkel:

A young ventriloquist is touring the clubs & stops to entertain at a bar in a small town. He's going through his usual run of stupid blonde jokes, when a big blonde woman in the 4th row stands on her chair and says: "I've heard just about enough of your stupid blonde jokes, Asshole. What makes you think you can stereotype women that way? What does a person's physical attributes have to do with their worth as a human being? It's guys like you who keep women like me from being respected at work and in my community and from reaching my full potential as a person... because you and your kind continue to perpetuate discrimination against not only blondes, but women in general, all in the name of humor."

Flustered, the ventriloquist begins to apologize, when the blonde pipes up, "You stay out of this mister, I'm talking to that little bastard on your knee!"
